Pre- Manchester on 5th November

Hi to All.

First, looking back on last weekend, I thought the team played great, hanging in there for the full 120 minutes against the most talented players in the EPL in the most affluent club.

There was some fantastic hockey on display and think we could have taken points from Sunday's game but it got stolen from us.

This kind of put a dampener on the weekend but I am looking forward to this weekend and meeting our dreaded rivals.

Manchester have always been our nemesis and while we have drawn with them, we have never beaten them. Now is the time for Sheffield to get on the scoreboard with some goals and take some points.

We are playing really well as a team and the guys are looking forward to Saturday when we hope to keep the momentum going, as well as keep picking up the points.

Please come and support your Steeldogs this weekend at the earlier face off time of 1.00pm.

Andre - Pre Guildford Weekend

We are now 10 games into the season and I am really pleased to see how well the team is gelling. Last weekend was a tough one, losing a point to Telford when we were 3-0 up, but we bounced back well in Peterborough and it was another one of those best games we've played this season.

This weekend we take on Guildford Flames in a home double-header and I am hoping our fans will help boost our attendance by bringing in some new young fans to the games on the the KIDS GO FREE tickets.

I'm looking forward to a good couple of games, which will be a litmus test for our team against some quality opposition, to find out if we really belong near the top of the league. The league this year has thrown up some unexpected results, and for both sides here this evening.

Guildford are one of the most talented teams in the league, so it will be a lot of fun to see my guys match up against them for two nights in a row on home ice, especially after the result down at the Spectrum.

Please come and support us and drown out the Flames Barmy Army!

I would also like to take this chance in appealing to you all to bring as many of your friends as possible to next Saturday's game – Bonfire Night with a Fancy Dress Competition added in!

Please note that the face off clash against Manchester Phoenix is at the much earlier time of 1pm, because of the After Dark event in the Grass Bowl.

Thanks for all your support, keep looking on the website for game promotions but above all, bring someone new with you to watch the Steeldogs.

Enjoy this coming weekend and shout loud for Sheffield.

Week 4

13.10.11

Another mixed weekend of performances and results, but I was really pleased at the way the lads bounced back after the tough defeat in Guildford.

I was also very pleased at keeping our undefeated home ice record intact, especially against Basingstoke.

Last Sunday a lot of the guys stepped up to the plate, Ben Bowns was exceptional and Janis Ozolins was our offensive spark. It was a really good performance to end the weekend on to keep our EPL position high, second in the league and just a point behind Manchester.

Next up will be even more of a challenge for the guys with two consecutive games on the road. We are really looking forward to seeing how we fare against Slough and Bracknell.

It is always tough having two away games but we have to make sure we get something out of these to keep our momentum going. We need to work hard for the 60 minutes each match and just focus on getting our game-plan right each day.

Both teams have some excellent offence, so we need to match them and our excellent defence and Ben Bowns will be key for us.

If you are on the road with us this coming weekend, please shout loud and proud for your team.

Go Steeldogs!

Andre
